Pre-existing Medical conditions

If any person to be insured under the policy has or has had any pre-existing medical conditions then please answer the following Medical Questions detailed below, to ensure our policy fits your needs.

Please indicate whether you have any of the following:

Have you or anyone to be insured on the policy had any Medical Condition that has been prescribed medication, including repeat prescriptions, or received treatment or attended a GP or a specialist as an outpatient or inpatient in the last 2 years or for which you are currently on a waiting list for treatment or investigation?

Have you or anyone to be insured on the policy had any illness for which you have received a terminal prognosis or any heart, heart-related or circulatory condition; or any respiratory condition; any stress, anxiety, depression or any other psychological condition or any cancerous condition?

Do you or anyone to be insured on the policy have any undiagnosed symptoms (i.e. symptoms for which you are awaiting investigations/consultations, or awaiting results of investigations, or where the underlying cause of the symptoms has not been established)?

Unfortunately you will NOT be covered under this policy unless you contact us directly in order for us to carry out Medical Screening to ensure full cover is in place. Please contact us on 0333 300 2160.


If you have answered ‘Yes’ to any of the above questions for yourself or anyone travelling under this policy, you must contact the Medical Screening Helpline on 0333 300 2160 to declare the condition(s) and ensure that we are able to provide cover.


You will be asked further questions about the condition(s). In the event that we can cover the condition(s) an additional premium may be payable, and/or further terms may be applied.


Some conditions are covered automatically under this Travel Insurance Policy and do not need to be medically screened. A list of these Waived Conditions, can be found here. If you have one or more of these conditions, you do not need to screen, however if you have any conditions not featured on this list you will need to screen in order to have them covered by the policy.

You should also refer to the General Exclusions within the policy wording.

This insurance operates on the following basis that all insured persons travelling on this policy:

  1. To be covered, You must be healthy, fit to travel and to undertake Your planned Trip;
  2. The insurance will NOT cover You when You are travelling against the advice of a Medical Practitioner (or would be travelling against the advice of a Medical Practitioner had You sought his/her advice);
  3. The insurance will NOT cover You when You are travelling with the intention of obtaining medical treatment or consultation abroad;
  4. The insurance will NOT cover You if You have any undiagnosed symptoms that require attention or investigation in the future (that is symptoms for which You are awaiting investigations/consultations, or awaiting results of investigations, where the underlying cause has not been established).

Good news YOU ARE covered under this policy

As you have answered No to our medical criteria, you have confirmed that any person to be insured under the policy ONLY have Medical Conditions that fall outside of the medical criteria. What this means is that You will be fully covered for this on the travel insurance policy.

You should also refer to the General Exclusions within the policy wording.

This insurance operates on the following basis:
